I don’t know about you…
…but I used to feel proud of how little rest I needed to bounce back. A few hours, and I was good to go — or so I thought.
I felt proud of juggling multiple projects at once, while also navigating deep family challenges. I said yes — to everything. To jobs, to tasks, to people needing help. I said yes so often, I lost track of when I truly meant it.
One of the lines I embraced with all my heart was: “Yes, I can.”
But here’s the truth — Most of my YES was for others. For jobs that quietly asked me to give up private moments, for situations that stretched me beyond my limits.
I believed that by saying yes, I’d be accepted. That I’d be valued. That I’d finally belong.
Big mistake, girls and boys. Because caring too much, without boundaries, breaks even the strongest of us.
So this is for you.
This is for you — the one who shows up for others even when you're breaking inside. The one who listens, holds space, and keeps going.
In a fast and often harsh world, your kindness is radical. Your heart is sacred.
May you feel held, seen, and supported.
