YES!!! To all of this!

I've been trying to take notice of things I hadn't normally taken notice of. I've been writing down if it's sunny or cloudy or rainy, if there was fog. If I saw any hawks that day or butterflies or dragonflies.

My watch came preset at 5k steps. I changed it to 3k as it was the lowest I could go. I would get mad at myself for not even making the 3k, until I read an article at some point that said the number doesn't matter but that you are moving does.

I've slipped away from my photography because the summer was so hot and with POTS I can't handle the heat. Then I let perfectionism take over on the days I could go out, so it's been months since I've picked up my camera.

Procrastination, perfectionism, imposter syndrome has managed to keep me from making art too.

I've always wanted to learn foraging and making tinctures and salves and the like.

Thank you for this post, you've given me things to think about.

A very big well done you for changing the steps count. It is none of anybody’s business to set things up for us! Well done you! Yep I am not good with heat either and sometimes I like to put together a selection of objects and take pictures, sort of telling a story with what is around me. Both procrastination and impostor syndrome are familiar to me .. they both put one in a metaphorical tunnel with one one way out but this is the illusion. We are not in the tunnel and there are many ways out. I have quite a few tincture recipes and pictures I did in the last few months and will write about soon. It is a soothing way of rein having with nature, doing something highly creative and also taking care of our health without buying from the shelves. Can t wait to hear your new adventures.

Dear Lisa I smiled when I read the beginning of your answer! Do you know what I do when I go for a walk and my mind is in a panic? In order to bring myself in the now I look around and bane what I see … a pink rose, mud on the road, blue car and so on. I found that this helps me navigate my at times tormented mind. It is a way of grounding myself, sort of similar to your writing those snippets of moments.

Thank you for that reminder Karina.

I am quickly able to remind someone else who might be in the throws of it to name things they can see, hear, feel, taste, and/or smell to help them center. But I just as easily forget all about it for myself.

I’ve been using a daily calendar book to note my observations. I had been noticing that I try to remember what a particular day was like a year ago, two years ago, or more. It’s a way for me to track weather and wildlife around my home.

Dear Lisa, we are reminding each other. When life is challenging we forget to do things for ourselves but never for others … the rescuer within is alert when it comes to other people but it needs nudging when it comes to us. Interesting the idea of a careener and nature observations. I like that! I have a 5 year diary where one records whatever one wants. Started it about 3 months ago … boy oh boy it is easy to get distracted and not fill it in even if it is just a line. But … when I remember, I add and add some more.
