Welcome—and thank you for being here.
We’ve just passed 200 readers and over 600 followers, and I’m deeply grateful you’ve found your way to this space.
Whether you’re new here or have been following quietly for a while, this blog is for you—especially if you’ve walked through fire and are still finding your way back to yourself.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Honest, unfiltered stories about life after 50, healing, trauma recovery, and starting over
- Reflections from the heart—sometimes raw, sometimes tender, always real
- Chapters from my autobiographical book called Naked Truth
- Creative sparks: painting, writing, intuitive practices, and ways to reconnect with your inner voice
- Practical encouragement: how to launch your own creative projects, whether it’s a YouTube channel, a blog, or something entirely your own
- A community rooted in courage, honesty, and the quiet power of those who’ve been underestimated for too long
This is not a space for quick fixes or performative positivity.
This is a space for “phoenix moments”, for truth-telling, for rediscovering what matters.
Because life after trauma deserves to be witnessed, honoured, and reclaimed.
Thank you for walking this path with me.
And now, let s talk about reinvention? Great word? Sure. But let’s get real.
The word “reinvention” is often delivered with a gleaming smile by bestselling authors, wellness gurus, and motivational speakers who sell retreats, classes, and miracle routines. It's always just “one more book”, “one more course”, “one more cleanse”, “one more ritual”.
Do this. Try that. Meditate harder. Run longer. Manifest better. And if you're still struggling? Well, clearly, you're just not doing the right thing, right?
Sounds familiar? Welcome. You’re not alone.
Because beneath all of this noise, there’s something deeply human that often gets ignored: “trauma”.
Not the kind that gets headlines or applause—but the kind that lingers in silence for “years”. Sometimes “decades”.
If you're over 40, 50 and have walked through fire more than once—loss, burnout, betrayal, abuse, breakdowns cloaked as “tough patches”—you know what I mean. You’ve been told to keep going. Chin up. Carry on. And you did.
But here’s what not enough people understand about trauma survivors:
We are intimately acquainted with:
- Hiding
- Surviving, not thriving
- Being left behind—emotionally or literally
- Betrayal by those we trusted most
- An iron will to stay in control, even when falling apart
- Getting up and getting on with it, regardless of the cost
- Silence so heavy it echoes
- Pain that’s invisible to everyone but you
We don’t need fixing.
We don’t need more “doing”.
We need “recognition”—and spaces where our quiet strength is seen, not dismissed.
Because every single day, trauma survivors manage something enormous: “survival”.
And that, my dear reader, makes you a hero in a world that rarely understands what you carry. I know, because I’ve lived it too. I live it every day.
There was a time when I had to carry the weight of a collapsing family system, grief, betrayal, financial distress, and exhaustion that no green smoothie or yoga class could heal. I was still standing, still working, still smiling. But inside, I was crumbling. One day, something in me whispered: enough. And I listened.
This blog, and recently the YouTube channel, is a response to that whisper. No more silence. No more pretending that we’re okay when we’re not. No more shame around struggling or needing time to rebuild.
You have the right to stand up for yourself.
To tell your story.
To say “enough”—even if it comes out as a whisper at first.
And when someone tells you to “just go to the next retreat,” “buy this course,” or “trust the process”—even when they know your finances are tight—don’t shrink in your chair.
Don’t let anyone from a place of privilege tell you how you should experience your life.
You didn’t ask for the terrible moments. You never wanted to become an expert in trauma.
But here you are. Still breathing. Still hoping. Still “you”. The first step toward real reinvention isn’t performance—it’s “validation”. It’s the radical act of saying: “I lived through this. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t my fault. And I’m still here.”
You are rising from the ashes.
And yes, we’ll talk about the ashes—because they matter. But we’ll also talk about how to rise, how to create, how to live again.
What’s next?
In this space, I’ll be sharing like before not just stories—but tools.
- How to start your self expression through creativity journey
- How to share your passions and experiences with others who “get it”
- How to open up when you've spent a lifetime holding it in
- How to connect with others on the same path—so we stop believing we’re alone and even
How to take meaningful walks and reconnect with nature through foraging and self sufficiency
