The King of Samoa went further and most definately became a Bahai...check out this

Dear Liz thank you for your comment and great insight! I thought Tolstoy had a connection with Baha’i but I was not sure. I know that towards the end of his life he was questioning some parts of Christianity. Loved the article about the king of Samoa. Thank you again!

Karina, you are teaching the history of our neighbours, sharing yesteryear of East-Central Europe. The Hungarian royal past is common with Austria; the Habsburg dynasty reigned since the sixteenth century.

Your Quine Marie was a strong person whose virtues the nation should remember. I will look for a biography of her, which will shed more light on her impressive contributions to Romanian history.

I have known for over a quarter of a century the extraordinary impact that Jane had on the development of your values, beliefs and horizons. I know that you have survived as a curious, resilient person because of her. In turn you have encouraged me to read and to learn. You encouraged me years ago to read at length about Queen Marie, widely considered in her 20's and 30's to be the most vibrant royal princess in Europe, and to read about other members of the Romanian Royal family including King Michael, a close family member of the Duke of Edinburgh. I hold in my memory the photograph of Marie as she rode on the front of a Romanian tank as it re-entered Bucharest after the defeat of the enemy. But I did not know that she had adopted the Bahai faith, did I miss this in all the words I read. Thank you for this piece, I sense that it will cause me to think quite deeply. P
